I have had several projects cancelled and put on hold due to Coronavirus/ COVID-19. Group shows on hold include the Art of Water IV at James May Gallery in Algoma, Wisconsin, The Feminine Sublime at Bridge Gallery/400 West Rich in Columbus, Ohio, and Artist Run Chicago 2.0 at the Hyde Park Art Center in Chicago, IL. The Zukunftsvisionen 2020 Festival for Contemporary Arts in Görlitz, Germany, is scheduled to included one of my installations however the event, originally scheduled to begin on May 23rd, is awaiting approval.
My public art piece, Ocnus’ Rope / Bleus de Travail, commissioned by the city of Saint-Chamond, was originally scheduled to open on April 4th. That work has been postponed indefinitely, however we hope to hang the soft sculpture, featuring over 200 used work overalls, at Novaciéries in Saint-Chamond this September! A preview of the work will be on view, quaratine-permitting in the group show Dress Code at Le Lieu Dit artist-run space in Calés, France, in June.
Several lectures planned for this Spring have also been delayed. An artist talk during a roundtable discussion on art & motherhood at Paris College of Art is on hold and a lecture entitled “Être et exposer : révéler les problématiques de genre au travail dans l’art contemporain” selected for the academic conference “Identité féminine au travail” at Aix-Marseille Université in late May has also been postponed.
Finally, private and online studio visits are temporarily on hold as I have a municipal studio space and the city in which I live has closed all municipal properties pending further notice.
