In the “Blue Collar” (Bleus de Travail) series, used work wear is sewn together to produce abstract compositions (2022). The worn overalls, jackets, jumpsuits, pants come from an earlier public art installation, Ocnus’ Rope, commissioned by the City of Saint-Chamond in 2020. The work clothing is cut and machine stitched together into intuitive, abstract forms that are then adhered to wooden stretcher bars. Some of the works have stains and paint splotches, signs of physical wear and tear on the former garments. Other have been more recently rust dyed, painted with rust from steel in strategic areas in 2025.
Blue Collar (Bleus de Travail) Series 2, 2022, 24″ x 36,” 60 cm x 90 cm, sewn used work wear textiles.
