Summer 2020 and Beyond / l’Été 2020 et au-delà!
After a rocky start to the year, I’ve been back in the studio and preparing work for exhibitions in France, Germany, and the US! I wanted to share some of my art with you before summer break and hope we’ll get a chance to connect, online or off, in the near future!
Après un début d’année mouvementé, je suis de retour dans l’atelier où je prépare des oeuvres pour des expositions en France, en Allemagne et aux États-Unis ! Je voulais partager mes nouvelles avec vous avant les vacances d’été et j’espère que nous aurons l’occasion de nous voir, en ligne ou pour de vrai, bientôt!
Public Art
I will be showing the installation Ocnus’ Rope this September and October at Novaciéries in Saint-Chamond. This work was commissioned following a call to artists on the subject of working class collective memory in the Gier Valley, an area that has suffered from massive de-industrialization. My installation is composed of over 300 used individual blue work overalls and uniforms. The opening is on Saturday, September 5th at 6:00 p.m.!
L’installation la Corde d’Oknos sera visible en septembre et en octobre aux Novaciéries de Saint-Chamond. Cette commande publique porte sur le thème de la mémoire ouvrière dans la vallée du Gier. Mon installation est composée de plus de 300 bleus de travail usagés ! Le vernissage aura lieu le samedi 5 septembre à 18h00 à la Hall-in-One!

I’m fortunate to be participating in two group shows at the moment, Engagement at the Bizartrit Gallery, up through July 23rd in Foix, France and Dress Code at LeLieuDit Gallery in Calès (in the Lot region), in France.
Upcoming shows include TIAB, The Immigrant Artist Biennial (Pfitzer Building, Brooklyn, New York, Fall 2020), ZUKUNFTSVISIONEN 2020, Neisse Centre for Contemporary Arts, Görlitz, Germany (August 21st-September 6th, and Bibliothèque Bleue in La Ricamarie, France (September 12th – October 10th).
J’ai la chance de participer à deux expositions de groupe en ce moment, Engagement à la Galerie BizArtRit, visible jusqu’au 23 juillet à Foix et Dress Code à la Galerie LeLieuDit à Calès (dans le Lot).
À l’automne, je vais présenter une installation en plein air lors de l’exposition la Bibliothèque Bleue à La Ricamarie, France (12 septembre-10 octobre), une oeuvre inédite pour The Immigrant Artist Biennial (New York, automne 2020), et une installation lors du Festival ZUKUNFTSVISIONEN 2020 (Neisse Center for Contemporary Arts, Görlitz, Allemagne du 21 août au 6 septembre).
Online Shows!
Due to Covid, many of the physical exhibitions that I was set to participate in this Spring, have been cancelled or postponed. As a result, I have shared my work in some exciting virtual spaces, including Stay Home Gallery (in the Week 5 Group Show, Repair), James May Gallery (The Art of Water IV on Artsy) and The World Takes a Breath.
During quarantine, I also posted a video about a piece in the Feminine Sublime Show at the 400 West Rich Bridge Gallery in Columbus, Ohio.
En raison de Covid, de nombreuses expositions auxquelles je devais participer ce printemps ont été annulées ou reportées. En conséquence, j’ai partagé mon travail dans des espaces virtuels, y compris le Stay Home Gallery (dans l’exposition #5, Repair), James May Gallery (The Art of Water IV sur Artsy) et The World Takes a Breath!
