Skinscapes (canvas)

These abstract images of Skinscapes (canvas) result from dripping, colorful collisions of leftover acrylic, watercolor, gouache, ink, mixed media paint on reclaimed canvas. Produced as companion pieces to the Skinscapes series of soft sculptures, the painted surfaces can also be exhibited as independent works. The color palette used in the works is derived from the photographic closeup images of human skin that are used and re-used within the sculptures. Although they look like and function as standard paintings, they can also be displayed in non-traditional configurations, folded and wrapped over the architectural elements of their surroundings.
