Spiderweb (Toile d’araignée)

This participatory art installation was produced for my solo show at the Animathèque in Sceaux, France in the Fall of 2007. A spiderweb was woven between two pillars in the gallery space during the exhibition’s opening. Two 200 meter long spools of sisal thread we left attached to the web, in the gallery space, for a duration of two weeks.

Visitors were invited to extend the work into the space of the exhibition and different strands ended up covering other works in the show and partitioning the space. The thread engulfed the gallery and the exhibition and changed how viewers interacted with the other objects on display.
